Trump Comments on Deadly ICE Shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis
President Donald Trump issued a statement addressing the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good by an ICE officer in Minneapolis.
“I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota,” Trump said. “It is a horrible thing to watch.” He described the woman in the video as “a professional agitator” and claimed the driver “was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE officer, who seems to have shot her in self-defense.”
Videos of the incident quickly went viral. One clip shows several ICE agents approaching a burgundy Honda Pilot and ordering the driver out of the vehicle.

Trump shared the clip on Truth Social, noting that the officer “is now recovering in the hospital.” He blamed the “Radical Left” for putting law enforcement in danger, saying, “We need to stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate!”
ICE has claimed the driver intentionally tried to injure the officer. Good’s mother, Donna Ganger, told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, “That’s so stupid. She was probably terrified,” insisting her daughter “was not part of anything like that.” Ganger described Renee as “one of the kindest people I’ve ever known… loving, forgiving, and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.”
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey strongly rejected the self-defense claim. “Having seen the video myself, I want to tell everybody directly, that is bull****,” he said, demanding ICE leave the city.
A video shared online showed a woman claiming to be Good’s wife, distraught and explaining they had a six-year-old child and no local support.

Officials have identified Good as a 37-year-old white woman. DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin called the incident “an act of domestic terrorism” after the driver “weaponized her vehicle” against federal agents.

The shooting sparked protests in Minneapolis, with demonstrators throwing snowballs and other objects at police. Governor Tim Walz said the Minnesota National Guard is on standby. “Minnesota will not allow our community to be used as a prop in a national political fight. We will not take the bait,” he said.
